Beth El Temple Spring Community Hike

12:15 PM - 4:00 PM1021 Mountain Road, Bloomfield, CTFor this community hike, we'll meet at Dr. Eliyahu’s house (1021 Mountain Road, Bloomfield, CT) after SULAM enjoys a field day at Schechter.
If you are meeting us at the hike and skipping lunch at Schechter, join us at 12:15 at Dr. Eliyahu’s house. We will start the hike at Dr. Eliyahu’s backyard which will lead to Auer Farm. After visiting the animals, we will continue our journey to the Reservoir and then hike back. Don’t forget good walking shoes, Passover snacks, water, and bug spray. Registration (below) is not required but will allow us to contact you in the event of last-minute updates and changes. In the event of heavy rain, the hike will be canceled. While not difficult, the hike is about a 2.5 - 3 hour loop. Dogs are welcome to join but must be on a leash.

Join Rabbi Rachel Zerin, Women's Network and the Israel Engagement Committee as we explore both timely and timeless topics through the lens of "Dirshuni: Contemporary Women's Midrash," a book which weaves together ancient Jewish texts and contemporary women's voices. All are welcome, whether it is your first time or you are a regular. All you need is an interest in learning! Snacks will be provided. Afternoon Movie with Chai Society Thursday, May 16, 1pm at Beth El Chai Society invites you to an afternoon program featuring “Sholem Aleichem: Laughing in the Darkness.” This film is a riveting portrait of the great writer whose stories became the basis of the Broadway musical Fiddler on the Roof. (Click here for the trailer!) Mark Schmidek will introduce this film, and his descriptions and commentary will enhance this wonderful documentary. There will be popcorn, munchies and dessert.
